We’ve made a list for you to keep an eye on these well-performing athletes as the games advance.
Naomi Osaka (Japan):
Osaka, one of the biggest stars in professional tennis, ranked as No.1 by the women’s tennis association. The first Japanese-born player to win a grand slam. With going viral after she withdrew from the French Open, the 23-year old rising star will be competing in her home country for the Japan 2020 Olympics.
Katie Ledecky (United States):
Kathleen Genevieve Ledecky, an American ambitious swimmer with having won 7 Olympic gold medals and 15 world championship gold medals. Holding the title for the most in history for a female swimmer. 24-year old and foreseen as the greatest female swimmer of all time.
Nyjah Huston (United States):
Skateboarding has made its way into the Tokyo Olympics, with American professional skateboarders holding championships for 5 years. Known for his skill full talent and also as the highest-paid skateboarder in the world. At 26 years of age, Huston has won the most street medals in X Games history.
Noah Lyles (United States):
Lyles, field, and track athletes specializing in sprints. Currently the world champion for the 200 meters and people’s favorite to win the event at the Olympics, which Usain Bolt won in each of the past three games.
Stephanie Gilmore (Australia):
Professional surfer, and seven-time world champion on women’s WSL World Tour. Winning more world titles than any of her competitors, 33-year-old and the current world champ.|
Hend Zaza (Syria):
At 12 years old, Zaza the youngest athlete to be participating in the Olympic table tennis. Born on 1 January 2009 in Hama, Syria, and started playing tennis in 2014, later attention to her potential was noticed and she won national titles at all levels; hopes, cadets, junior and senior.
